The film depicts a year in the life of Eun-hee, a 14-year-old in 1990s Seoul trying to survive high school and a dysfunctional and sometimes abusive family with the help of her best friend. Along the way, Eun-hee begins to grow close to her new cram school tutor, who may be the only person in the world who understands her.
